I’m Vanessa, a recent PhD, writer, and loss mama. My daughter, Leah, was born on June 21, 2016 by emergency cesarean section. During the final days of my full term pregnancy she suffered a massive fetomaternal hemorrhage resulting in severe brain damage, asphyxia, and anemia. My husband and I spent 33 precious hours with her outside the womb before she gained her angel wings. This blog documents my experience of loss and my ongoing grief journey as a bereaved mother.
